Pastor Matt Luetke was born in 1978 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He remained there with his family until 1997 when he moved to New Ulm, Minnesota to attend college. In his first year of college, Pastor Luetke's parents moved to Olivia, Minnesota and are living there to this day. Pastor Luetke's father is the pastor of Zion Lutheran Church there. Pastor Luetke has two brothers and two sisters. He is the middle child.

Pastor Luetke attended Woodstock Elementary, Kempslanding Middle School, and Tallwood High School (all in Virginia Beach, all public). To begin preparing for the ministry he attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, graduating in 2002. He then attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, graduation in 2006. Upon graduation Pastor Luetke was assigned to serve Ascension Lutheran Church in Rochester Minnesota, with an emphasis on youth, evangelism, and fellowship.

Pastor Luetke married Charity Heiderich on June 9, 2001. Charity was born in Morristown, South Dakota and grew up in Flasher, North Dakota. She graduated from Martin Luther College with a Staff Ministries degree. The Lord has blessed Pastor and Charity with four children: Lorelei (6 years old), Malachi (4 years old), Audrey (3 years old), and Atticus (1 years old).

Pastor Luetke has lots of favorite Bible passages. Here are two of them:

  • John 20:31 - These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
  • John 15:5 - I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
